Guanacasteña TreeNet - Latica Lodge, Costa Rica
Woven into the expansive branches of a magnificent Guanacaste tree, the Guanacasteña TreeNet rises through four interconnected platforms — each offering a distinct experience within the canopy.
The journey upward unfolds gradually. Small nooks and natural branch seats were intentionally integrated into the design, creating intimate perches to lean back, breathe, and feel truly held by the tree itself.
The third platform opens into a spacious 10m² gathering zone — a suspended lounge designed for connection. Here, retreat guests come together with new friends, the wind, and the ever-present rhythm of the surrounding wildlife.
Climb just a little higher and you’ll reach the fourth platform: a crow’s nest lookout that unlocks ocean view. At sunset, it glows. At night, it becomes a portal for stargazing.
Monkeys pass through daily — sometimes even choosing the Guanacaste as their sleeping tree. Iguanas lounge in the branches. Other curious critters make appearances, allowing visitors to experience the abundant aliveness in Costa Rica.
Since its completion, the canopy has naturally evolved into a place not only for gathering, but for extended rest and overnight stays beneath the stars.
The Guanacasteña TreeNet is more than a structure — it is an invitation to connect with the tree, the wildlife, the wind, and the simple wonder of being held above the earth.
