Nope — TreeNets aren’t limited to trees! As well as woven between trees or within trees, TreeNets can be woven between sturdy posts, in lofts, stairwells, anchored to buildings, porches, decks, rocks, creative studios, or even commercial spaces like gyms or children’s play areas. Indoors or outdoors, if there’s a solid anchor point, a custom net can likely be built there.

The lifespan depends on how and where it’s used. Private TreeNets tend to last most of a decade with proper care, while commercial setups see 3–5 years on average due to heavier use and exposure to sun and weather. UV damage is one of the main aging factors, so placement matters.

TreeNets are handmade from durable static rope and paracord, chosen for strength, performance, and longevity. These materials are proven in climbing and rigging industries and are comfortable for play and lounging alike.

Our TreeNets are built from extremely strong materials. Each strand of paracord is rated to hold up to 550 lbs, while the climbing rope used for the perimeter and structural framing is capable of supporting thousands of pounds. Once woven together, the combined strength of the system easily supports multiple people without concern for a specific weight limit. One thing we always emphasize is that a net is only as strong as the anchors it’s connected to — whether that’s trees, rock features, or built structures. Because of this, the most important factor is the strength and health of the anchor points. When the anchors are solid, the net performs exactly as intended. For added comfort and safety, we can also incorporate backrests and side walls into the design.

We love trees and take great care not to hurt them! We use protective blocks between rope and bark to avoid girdling and ensure that water and nutrients can still flow freely. When the hardware is removed later — after years of use — the trees typically show minimal lasting impact.
